For those who have been asking lately, questions relating to the price of this t-shirt, I have a bit more info for you from the designer herself:
“Not only is the garment made locally but the fabric is made in Levin (NZ). The fabric company we use is passionate about producing a quality product while caring for their environment which is why we love to work with them! “All the water we use in the processing of our fabrics comes exclusively from the underground water tables of the Tararua Ranges. Having been naturally filtered through the mountains for hundreds of years, it’s 100% chemical free. Naturally we want to protect our local environment, so we make sure our processes, dyes and chemicals are environmentally friendly keeping the air and waterways healthy and clean”. When the ‘Stripe Boyfriends Tee’ first went into production, the fabric company were not completely happy with their first attempt at making this particular textile, so went through the entire process to make it again. “If it’s not up to standard, it doesn’t go out — it really is that simple. Our strict laboratory tests ensure that our fabrics meet international standards, and every roll of fabric is examined for faults before it leaves”.
So when you wear this item, have confidence knowing that it is 100% designed and manufactured COMPLETELY in NZ! You’re supporting not only myself, a local designer, but New Zealand’s manufacturers which is a dying industry in our country.
Due to popular demand, we will be re-running this style (along with the mustard pant*). These styles will be available at Fabric stores in Auckland, mid to late October.”
So there you go.
*More on the mustard pant soon!
