Just my perception here, and I admit this is part bitterness/part I love-hate your blog. The "oh Katherine, you seem like such a down to earth person" comments make me roll my eyes a tad. Having been in your peripheral presence, I feel like you have your own brand of tc snobbery. But just like those commenters, I don't actually know you. Your words are often wise, if occasionally condescending. I probably won't stop reading any time soon. And fuck those people who hate on your looks. Peace.
I don’t know man, I’m just a girl with a blog. A blog that shows a pretty small part of my life. I think what a lot of people think, is that what they see on there is everything. Understandable though. Yeah, I can be really standoffish, I get weirded out in public, I get questions and I don’t know how to answer them or what the ‘right’ way to answer them would be, because most of the time there’s no winning - someone’s always going to dislike what you have to say or you’re going to sound patronizing or hypocritical or defensive or mean or boring.
I feel like everyone has all these expectations of me because of what they see online. In reality I’m just a giant weirdo with a laptop and an internet connection and the same problems as everyone else. Or even more problems, probably.Thanks for the note. Would’ve been cool if you emailed me but you know, I actually appreciate the time and effort taken to send me that because it’s not often people will go out of their way to share their honest opinions with me.
